Angel's Trumpets Flowering (Jean Pascoe or Jamaican Yellow?) (Angel's Trumpets - Brugmansia)

This is one of the smaller Angel's Trumpet in the front yard. it doesn't grow big because of all the competition from the big trees. Photo taken June 4, 2017.

Thank you. I do like this variety. It's been stunted as a very small plant for years.

Its nice to have different heights dont you think.

6 Jun, 2017

Yes, it's probably best this one isn't 15' or 20' tall. :>))

8 Jun, 2017

Lol you need a ladder to take a photo then for the others ?

8 Jun, 2017

Yes, almost. I have a few that are pretty tall.

8 Jun, 2017

At least then you can get decent photos which I ve seen 15 and 20 ft is quite tall.

8 Jun, 2017

Yes, it's easy to take photos of this one. I do have six Angel's Trumpets in the ground in front yard. I have two in the ground in the back yard.

Wow 8 altogether then your so lucky you must be an expert of growing and careing for Angel Trumpets then.

9 Jun, 2017

They're very easy to grow here, as long as they have water.

9 Jun, 2017

We have plenty of that but not the sun and heat.

9 Jun, 2017

Angel's Trumpets generally don't need a lot of heat, they do need some sun, though. And yes, lots of water.

My Angel's Trumpets are blooming again...even though the weather has been cloudy and cool most of this month.

I know one elderly lady who had hers in her garden but she lived in Suffolk its the frosts that would kill them where I live and I have no where to put it over winter. Interesting they don't need heat thanks for that Andy.

9 Jun, 2017

Well, I think cool here is a relative term. lol! What you consider cool I may consider cold or vice-versa. :>))

The morning lows have been around 62ºF (17ºC) which are recorded at about 5:00 a.m. The highs are around 74ºF (23ºC). Typically, it's much warmer this time of year here in inland San Diego. Next week hot weather will be here. Highs of 82 - 90ºF (28 - 33ºC), lows will be around 67ºF (20ºC).

10 Jun, 2017

Lol yes your cool would be our hot ? wow dont think I could live in that kind of heat what your due to get.

10 Jun, 2017

LOL! Actually, the temps have been revised upward. The temps will most likely being 90's (34ºC) for several days. The desert will be really hot, with temps of 115 (46ºC), excessive heat warnings will most likely be issued according to tonight's news. It's not unusual for it be much hotter during summer, though. That's the heat I really can't take and would hate to live in.

13 Jun, 2017

When you get your summer heat do you have to take salt tablet drink as when my dad was in ww2 he was sent to India being in the Royal Air Force and each day they had to take them because of the heat.

13 Jun, 2017

No salt tablets...just a lot of fluids. I always carry water in my car.

14 Jun, 2017

Very wise thing to do Andy.

14 Jun, 2017

It could dangerous (when it's very hot) if you have no water and your car decides to break down.

It's pretty amazing, all my Angel's Trumpets are flowering again. I hope this heat wave doesn't burn up all the flowers! (It most likely will, though).

16 Jun, 2017

Yes it would be very dangerous and cars attract the heat even worse with the glass windows and metal white cars reflect the heat I use to have one a VW beetle lol.

I hope they don't burn Andy can you not place some thing over them to shade them a white net curtain

16 Jun, 2017

It's actually dangerous to be outside in the direct sun when it's really hot (especially this time of year).

Most likely some of my plants may burn in the heat. It happens every year. It's more typical in Sept., Oct. and Nov. when the humidity is extremely low from the very hot Santa Ana winds.

16 Jun, 2017

How do you manage getting to work and shopping.

16 Jun, 2017

We all have very good ac units in the cars. lol! The ac went out on my car about 5 years ago...I got it fixed very fast! :>)) Can't drive without it!

20 Jun, 2017

I am glad to here you have good ac units and pleased you got yours fixed not a thing you could ignore not to fix .

We have ac units over here in our cars to but they use more fuel if you put them on .

20 Jun, 2017

Yes, we put the ac on in the car on full blast. lol! It's on day and night, when driving. :>)) In newer cars, the ac units take very little energy, not like the older cars which would use a lot of fuel.

20 Jun, 2017

I dont blame you think I would to. like most new things they improve thank goodness.

20 Jun, 2017

Yes, it's good things improve in time. :>))

22 Jun, 2017

It certainly is and some things get worse cheaper not made to last lol

22 Jun, 2017

For sure. :>))
