Top pic, 'Wonders Never Cease' photographed at my favourite Iris Supplier's garden. Two bottom pics, bought mail order from a large bulb supplier, nothing like the 1m amoena (white standards) speckled falls. Very disappointing.

Beautiful markings on the true WNCease, but not on my imposter. I am NEVER going to buy anymore Iris at Garden Centres. It is not the GC fault, but I think growers who DUMP excess inferior stock onto the market, maybe siblings of one that got named.

That is why I do like to buy at good old fashioned Nurseries, or specialist suppliers. I have my absolute favourites of those outlets, because of plant quality, provenance and the service.
