Been buying.. Again..

Been buying.. Again..

Today I bought another water hawthorn to go with the ones I bought online a few weeks ago and one I already had. Two bunches of elodea crispa oxygenating pond weed, which turned out to be six bunches in two packs. And a variegated marginal plant (I already have one of these too) to form a big surface spreading clump/ bush in the pond. The jdea is that all of these plants will provide additional oxygen, cover and shelter for the fish and pond as there has been a heron or cat that has taken two of my fish so far in the last few days..

There are a lot of herons on the moss, near where my mother lives. She and my sister both have to keep their ponds netted. It's a nuisance, but necessary.

It is! We're thinking it's more than likely a cat but you never know

Looks a little too enclosed to be a visiting heron. I had one of my ponds in the front garden and a cat kept hooking fish out with its paw. Put a little wire fence around the pond, looked awful and didn't stop the cat so moved the pond to the enclosed back garden. That was a long while ago now.

I think I'd read that in one of your blogs Siris? And there are lots of cats about so is probably one of them!!
