LOL! Yesssss! I've decided to make raised beds and grow strawberries next year! Have found an area close to the grape arbour that will be perfect and close enough to the house that I won't have to worry about policing the critters!

I believe brown bears are rather partial to fresh strawberries...

Will have to check my facts, Marianne, but I believe we have only blackbears here in the East. ...I'm sure they would love to make an exception for my berries! LOL... I was thinking mainly of chipmunks, squirrels, robins and raccoons. Part of the reason for putting the berries in a raised bed is so that I can have something to fasten row covers to.. started digging today but it was so humid this morning that I was just dripping after about 1/2 hr.
