Yes, it took several attempts to get a photo where they weren't bleached out.

It can be a problem, bleaching, also the tone on blues and purples. I try to take my photos either early in the morning or evening, then give up!

Ditto! I think being in a dark corner didn't help with trying to get a picture of this one - the contrast of the white was too large for the camera to handle.
