Fabulous! When I think back to these Sandra, my Spanish garden had them everywhere and before we had guests, I would cut all the sharp points off for safety. As they grew larger and the lower leaves would dry off, I would slice them off and then shape them like a pineapple with the leaves on top. This way there was still room round the agaves for the pups to grow and to move them, or else plant other things.

I have thought about cutting the sharp bits off Janey. I was worried they wouldn't like it. They are soo dangerous with the dogs....maybe i will now you have said..

If you cut the points off it doesn't hurt the plant at all.

You know this plant here grows wild everywhere.

i will be snipping the offending spikes off soon now i know it wont hurt the plant. i love seeing the agaves around where you live Delonix. it teaches me so much about them thank you.

Many of the Agave plants here are starting to bloom. The weather this January, like last January has been unusually warm (soon we won't have a winter).

I will post some photos soon.
