Traveller's Palms - Ravenala madagascariensis

Traveller's Palms - Ravenala madagascariensis (Traveller's Palms - Ravenala madagascariensis)

These traveller's palms were blooming. It's was a little difficult to get this photo and the flowers because it was at night. Photo taken at Downtown Disney, Anaheim, CA. on Nov. 8, 2014.

Possibly the most beautiful of palm IMO!

It's not a palm. It belongs in the Strelitziaceae family, which is the same family for bird-of-paradise. I do love this plant; however, it grows so much larger than giant bird-of-paradise (Strelitzia nicolai), which is much more common here.

That's a plant that fits Disney perfectly.

Yes, it does. There's 5 or 6 clumps around this building in Downtown Disney. They have gotten tall...the trunks are around 12 - 18' tall.
