A sure sign you're in the tropics, and it's probably summertime.

Andy, I've now got three large mature Delonix in bloom this year. It means there's quite a bit of red splashed around my place at the moment. Love it!

You would enjoy the splash of fiery red that's all over out city and environs at the moment, Andy.

I'm sure I would. They remind me of Hawaii...because they naturalize there.

Fascinating. Where do these trese grow in Australia? At the coast or in midlands?

Katarina, this tree grows primarily in the tropical and sub-tropical areas in the north of Australia. It flourishes on the coastline, but I have seen it growing in the drier inland areas as well.

It is indeed, Katarina, and right now there are literally hundreds of them covered in blooms all over our city and suburbs.
