I love Taurus because is out so early and I bought it for that reason Sticky. The wood spirit was an impulse buy but our property is suitable for that kind of art. It is very woodsy.

I had to remove my R Taurus today :( its been suffering for a while and had things growing on the underside of the foliage. I've been pampering it for 3 years and decided it was time to let it go.
That's a lovely piece of artwork and Taurus is beautiful.

Sticky, The wood spirit carvings somehow belong in the woods do not they? They add a little bit of magic.
Scottish, sorry about your Taurus but sometimes when the plant is diseased its beter to take it out . This one is about 4years old and it actually gets lots of sun, I will be triming it back as it gets little spindly(but strong).
I have one rhododendron which will be removed as well. I think it is just too old and giving up on living.
Thank you both for your comments.

magic is right, a bit of mystery in a good way, something that fits with woodland somehow

It is quite similar isn't it Sticki.
I have a similar, small carving by our back door, given as a wedding present by my auntie who lives in Canada!

Interesting carving as well Sticki. They use chainsaws around here to create these large pieces.

They do that here too...noisy and smelly! I would prefer to sit and slowly cut away!

I don't know how they made that one but in the woods behind my house one of the woodsmen carved an owl out of a stump with a chain saw......very clever!

My neighbour has a tendency to carve some of the stumps around , using a chain saw, bless his heart. He definitelly has an artistic streak in him Best neighbour we ever had.
