I'm from Hawaii...and many plants native to Hawaii have the sandwichiana species name. The Hawaiian Island used to be called the Sandwich Islands.

I just posted an Erythrina tree native to Hawaii. It's called: Erythrina sandwicensis.

Thanks for the explanation Delonix. I wondered if it had anything to do with sandwiches.
