Allamanda 'Cherries Jubilee' - Cherries Jubilee Allamanda Seed Pod (Allamanda 'Cherries Jubilee' - Cherries Jubilee Allamanda)

The seed pod is still growing slowly. I'll have to wait for it to dry before I pick it. Photo take January 14, 2013. Posted for Meanie.

Looks safe from predators!

Wonderful, looks as if it should be under the ocean..

Meanie:

It's safe from predators, but wasn't so safe from the cold snap we had. It's looking a little beat up from the 4 very chilly nights we had; however, it will survive.

Thanks! The prickles are soft. :>)

I think once it dries the prickles may turn hard.

It's funny you commented on this plant today. I just planted a cutting of this vine this morning. It's super easy to start from cuttings.

I would never have guessed it was growing on a vine, what is the flower like? It reminded me of a conker shell?

I'm training it as a standard. It's a very beautiful flowering very tropical vine. It doesn't look its best right now after all the cooler than normal weather we've had the last two month.

its really pretty ~ if you can get it to grow as standard its going to look amazing!

2 Mar, 2013

Yes, I think it's going to be pretty easy to grow as a standard, as long as I prune it back regularly.

i hope it works ~ i will look forward to the pictures!

Yes, I'll be posting photos in a couple of months when it starts blooming again.

It's super easy to start from cuttings, also. I just planted a cutting in a pot last week. We had some warm to hot weather for 6 days (almost 88ºF -31ºC) weather here.

5 Mar, 2013

we had sun today!! very nice!11º

5 Mar, 2013

The morning low here was higher than that. lol!

That's cold for a high temp. It's back to cooler than normal temps here, though. The highs here are only running around 65ºF (18ºC), now. Next week it's back to around 75ºF (24ºC) or so. :>)

thought that would amuse you!

back to normal here today ~ 7!!!

I probably shouldn't have laughed, that was rude of me.

That is cold, though. I hope it warms up for you soon!

We have a cold front moving down from the north, it's going to bring us some cooler than normal temps for a few days. I can't wait until it's consistently milder, which it should be like by now.

Normally another month or so before it warms up but we did have a good march last year!

Don't worry our weather is laughable.......but not always when you are living in it!

7 Mar, 2013

I know warm and cold is subjective. What's warm to me may be hot to you. I know your climate is cooler than here all year.
