That's almost starting to look rampant - it is still a young plant isn't it?

Meanie:

Yes, it still very young. I cut it back a bit a few weeks ago. It continues to bloom like crazy with the very hot weather. 92ºF (33ºC) was the high temp and it was 87ºF (31ºC) by 10 am yesterday morning and today is hotter!

I'm still not sure it'll survive winter, though. The plant is very, very tropical.

I'll find out by the beginning of February, which is pretty much the end of winter here.

Oh yeah... you let it grow and branch.. i have been very strict with mine.. i let it grow only vertical and keep those branches where i think it has scope for upward growth... otherwise it'll eat up others.. btw... i have started growing indian chilies and today i saw my first fruit.. :) Couldn't imagine a better start to my weekend.

Yes, I trying to train my Allamanda vine as a standard (little tree). It does grow very, very quickly like most vines here (even the ones that are supposedly slow, grow so super fast here).

That's great with the chilies! I have one can that grows to almost tree-like proportions. It almost looks like a Christmas tree because it has green, red, purple and black chili peppers all at one time. It's a beautiful shrub even though, I don't use chilies much. I do give them away to neighbor's.

arent those the inedible variety..?

It's an edible variety. I use them in chile beans. I can't remember the variety it is, though. I do have one in a pot. The large one I had in the ground I cut down a few years back. It grew so wild and was always blocking a light on the side of my house.

Here's a photo my small chili pepper plant in a pot.
