thanks ladies, it has really come along, - lots of hard work now paying off. and no Jac, this is an Acer tree, i have pruned it to a standard shape as i want it to grow into a small tree, this variety should go to around 15-20 ft, so unlike most Acers its quite fast growing variety i bought it last spring and it was approx 5ft then, it is now well over 7ft i think cutting off the lower branches has proberly made it shoot a bit. it is a fantasic tree, beautiful bright pink new growth, but alass no autumn colour on this one.still gues you cant have everything.
