Ok,whats your idea on growing that here? Up against a hot wall be good enough? I thought about ordering the smallest you can get on ebay,give it a try next summer.
Years ago,I saw a photo of them being grown in half barrels with 1-2' of trunk,and full- small- fan of leaves. What a great looking container plant.

Not very good, I'm guessing. They will usually die pretty quickly come the middle of winter in the Bay Area. I've tried several in Hayward and in Fremont. You would have to start out with a huge one like the one in this photo for it to have any chance of survival.
