you should have a good crop there,Sheila.

From past experience I know I will not get as big a crop as I would planting in the earth but we are past digging if we can avoid it. The taste of home grown beats anything you can buy in the shops. At the moment Colleen is racing ahead of Swift neither of which I have grown before.

If I could only grow one plant it would have to be potatoes. They are so versatile and so tasty. I have 10 microplants in 5 growbags in the greenhouse and they are doing well. I will wait till the end of the month before risking them outside. In the meantime I have been worried about how to water them. I filled a plastic pint bottle with water and punched a hole in the bottom before cutting a hole to allow it to drip feed in to the bag. From past experience I know it is almost impossible to wet dried out compost. I just hope it works.

I have been doing it for several years now and it is so much easier than having to dig the garden. I got the pop up bags in B&Q for £1.00 less oap discount of 10% ie 90p each last autumn. I will be interested to see how they do.

Yes I can't dig now either, and I have no room in this garden anyway. It's a good idea.

I use new compost now as it means I just have to tip it in. I saw someone saying when you think they are ready just feel about in the soil and take what you need also a very good idea I thought.

Thanks. I'll try that.
