Thanks for your interest, the other pictures show how it's improved... I hope.

Well, when I moved in there was nothing there, then the builders replaced the wooden balcony with metal, so I was let with a mini-waste ground, dry, small and shaded; due to it being a flat over shops, and the garden is behind the shops, a semi-public alley.

I can't spend fabulous amounts on plants, because it could get vandalised or stolen. I've been fortunate upto now, one year in. I've used mainly woodland plants, and plants that can take care of themselves. Mahonias, Foxgloves and Elder.

Though the space is small I'm putting in large plants, and oddly the more I put in the larger it looks...??

Yes it has improved with the plants.
It's funny how they make it look biger. The same happened with mine. When I moved here it was just grass and looked smallish . But with all the plants I think there's so much to see it seems biger
