HI.

My name is Ilka, 58, artist and art-therapist.
I live in Kassel, Germany in an old house near the city´s heart. I have a little piece of earth in the garden of friends, but think, they´re about to give up the allotment, so I´ll need some other stay for my shrubs.
But the "Garden" really near to my heart is the little balkony opening to the west. Because I cannot live without plants, I´m imitating a sort of "wilderness", taking some mini-plants from nature (moss!!), buy some alpines, other more little ore tiny plants, some of which have special needs, and at the edge in the sun, some Lilies and some Dianthus. Since the place is so little and the sunny stripe so narrow, I try to divide them in biotop-seeming groups - of course still learning and always undergoing the limits of minimum-space they need. Of course I try to have little pieces of nearly everything that fascinates me... besides the solanum they stay outside in the winter.

I like to sit right between the plants, on a little carpet, watching them grow, and looking over the city.It´s like childhood, where I played between the roots of trees. Mini-worlds.
Rather I´d have a bigger gardening place,- but couldn´t stand any distance to my own living-place: I need it right there, just a glass-door between.
