Cats and fire

This was too funny!
We did probably the last fire in the fireplace this evening using one of those “artificial logs” to clean out the creasoat in the chimney tonight and the cats just loved it.

Little “Smokey boy” was total “road kill” on the couch after about 30 minutes:

The other two boys soon joined him on the couch and had it in “pure flop mode”!

That’s ’ma boys!
They were all so happy and content tonight.. :-)

Later I thought that the picture of Smokey is one of the best cat photos I have ever seen, so I came back here to have another look and put the blog on my favourites.

How cool, Gurthbruins!
Little "Smokey" is our "miracle baby". We had adopted his brother, "Bear" (the black cat) from an animal shelter one weekend, then went back to the same shelter the next weekend to adopt Bear's brother, "Smokey"..

A week later I heard on the news that the shelter had a tragic fire and they lost over 100 cats.. I had held most of those cats the day we adopted little "Bear", and the news hit me pretty hard. Little "Smokey" escaped the fire by one week because my wife wanted to adopt the "brother"and he has been the best cat in the world. That's my boy!

It's a moving story, N2O, and now they have found a wonderful home.
