i thought i would put on a quick blog and show you a few things i made for my grandaughters to play with when they come round..
the first one ..the garden..

wedding party..

decorating the front room..

the nursery…

little girls dream ..the shoe shop

all made in file boxes mostly with balsa wood and fimo modeling clay for flowers, shoes, food and other bits,.. with their little dolls they played for hours, alas they are too old for them now but i have 2 new grandaughters Ella & Lily so will pass them on to them

the best part was just close them up and stack them out of the way …

These look really good Joan I am sure many little girls would love to play with them. You have given many people inspiration to try and make similar, I am sure, for their children to play with. Very good idea to have it folding away too :-)

what a great idea - I did something similar as a little girl but in old cardboard boxes stacked up four and made a dolls house - used the square samples for carpets and any materiel for curtains etc and used to play with my Cindy dolls (do you remember them??) for ages and if you got bored with the decoration you could just change it (it helped Dad knew someone with a carpet shop that kept chucking out sample books every season!!) never thought about doing them in files. I wonder if we could do that with the kids on our estate.... will let you know!!
