Falling in love again

Does this happen to anyone else too? I’ve just fallen in love with my garden again. And it happens every year.
The cycle is the same: spring is young passion, full of promise; early summer the relationship is blooming; come August/Sept I’m beginning to get bored with the deadheading, while the garden starts to rebel, with lots of yellowing foliage, dry grass and uncontrollable weeds. By the autumn, we’re both sulking and come midwinter, we’re barely on speaking terms.
but then things start to change. New shoots in the garden rekindle my interest, the changing of the clocks marks our reunion and the beginning of a whole new year, past failures forgotten and only everything to look forward to.
Of course, I’m now in panic mode: I’ve left some of my seed-sowing late; the weeds are already snaking their roots under the soil and there are beds to be dug, seedlings to be planted.
But I don’t care. this year won’t be perfect. It never is, but for the time being, my vision is flushed with ‘green tinted glasss’. I’m in love and it’s wonderful.

I don't fall out with my garden in the winter, but I just fall deeper in love with it as each year progresses. :o)
It's wonderfull when the clocks go on. I never understand why they have to wait so late in the year before doing it.

The other trick is not to put your clocks back in autumn. But just remember, everyone else does things an hour latet than you do!
