It’s been two year’s since I visited Grow’s on You. Sadly life took a few bad turns…………and I had neither the will or inclination to write, view, or participate at all in anything.
But that is all now in the past, so with true Brit spirit it is onward and upward with life in general. Sadly during this time I lost Jilly my little Jack Russell, constant and true companion for 14 years. She had a tumour and although a couple of operations prolonged her life for a good few months, It was kinder in the end to let her go. But boy I miss her so :0(
I have just been removing all the large shrubs that were blocking light from my living room, and now my rockery is nicely exposed, ‘the shrubs had encroached over it’ and ready for planting a few new rockery plants.
Any suggestions would be welcome……the position is mostly in shade until about 4 pm.
Goldie.

I fully understand your feelings goldie1 on losing a beloved pet, we lost ours JR 3 years ago and its taken us all this time to truly get over it. We have recently got a JR/Westie cross from animal shelter and shes our world. Jilly had a lovely life with you I'm sure, but life does go on and weeds still keep on growing.
Try not to feel sad but happy she had a nice life.

Now you have started working the soil again i know things will get better.Gardening is very therapeutic and a good rewarding job.
I'm not much of a gardener but do enjoy looking out the window when its nice and tidy.

Good Luck

So sorry for your loss! Dealing with earth and growing things is such a therapeutic thing to do I'm sure you'll begin to feel better as summer moves in. Let's all hope for a warm summer with rain only at night!

Thank you all so much for your comments.
Unfortunately Katrina my old legs and balance problems preclude me from having another dog, it just wouldn't be fair, as all dogs no matter how small need daily exercise.......However that doesn't mean that I wouldn't still love to have one.....:0)
Never mind, I shall try tropical fish instead lol.
I'm not much of a gardener either, but do love the garden and am trying to make mine 'wild life friendly'
so any tips on flowers, shrubs that will attract bees, butterflies, birds etc would be welcome.
