yes, it was! I still have the dead looking stump but no ferns this year because I failed to protect it in the snow and I fear I am now An Official Dicksonia Antartica Murderer'. I havent the heart to throw it away, am hoping one day I will be forgiven! I've just realised, there's a speared man at the back of the lawn....."Oi mate, you've done the wrong garden" kinda look :)

Thanks bonkers, yes its good to look back sometimes, particularly when i hit a bit of brick wall in creativity terms. I think there's an even earlier shot before the new lawn, showing the slope and old pampas grass etc. Funnily enough, i still liked the garden then. When i bought the house, i hadnt even been out in the garden, my two viewings were done at night. The estate agents details just said ' large, mature garden'. Hmm, well i supposed that wasnt dishonest.....
