Aphelandra squarrosa up close. (Aphelandra squarrosa (Zebra plant))

This is the ONLY Zebra plant growing outdoors,in ground, on the internet from what I've seen in google searches.
So,I guess this is a first.

It’s a striking plant, Stan! Love the colours and markings. Ok, so maybe not the first as such, but a pioneer of sorts as Klahanie said!

A very striking plant, anyway.

It looks very nice, unfortunately the long-term survival rate there is pretty bleak. I tried many when I lived there...they all died within a year.

Times have changed Andy..the bay area is like one big building with the thermostat set for no lower than 35f! ( I hope!)

I've lost photos too. When photobucket began to charge hundreds of dollars...there they went.
The computer age is the worst for memories. Paper is better.

I recall you saying a while back on loosing your photos Stan yes I agree I have never trusted the pc along with many others here not even for filling in local government forms with personal data they request. I am glad my grandson kept copies of my photos.
