I think they are noted for being quite short lived plants anyway.

Some of the Gauras are not hardy - if you are in a cold area prone to frosts, it may need some winter protection. G.lindheimerei has survived in my garden, but I have lost others. Could you take the whole tub into a greenhouse or coldframe? I should think it looks wonderful in a tub, it'd such a graceful plant.

Lovely pink colour. I had a large white one but it died in winter. They don't seem to last long.
