Cotoneasters are very popular garden shrubs, grown for their attractive habit and decorative fruit. Most of the species in this genus of woody plants are shrubs growing up to 5m but there are a few species of small trees growing up to 15m.

How large do you expect this to grow, please Xela.
I have a cutting growing of something similar and I don't know how much room it might like to have as it develops. Thanks.

That,s a shame , Our back wall is almost covered in it , the birds love it, it keeps them in berries all winter , plus they build there nests in it :D

They are so pretty Amy I have one but there are never any flowers or berries, must be a sterile plant.

Aw well when I plant more this year, I'll take measures (chicken wire over the site) to keep a few for myself. No measure is actually squirrel proof but this one will leave me with a few more bulbs.

That was hard Gardengnome. We don't get squirrels in our garden so the bulbs are safe from them. My sister has a problem with them in UK.

I planted a "million" tulip bulbs and the ground squirrels got 999,999 of them and on top of that the one they left never bloomed!

The berries are not considered edible on any of the Cotoneaster, though they are not toxic.

I've got a rose that looks like this too. Mine is called Blue Moon according to it's label.

I think I'll have to make room in my garden for this rose if I can track it down.

hi Tin, is this rose actually called 'lavander Rose'? only reason i am asking is that i have just bought 2 'Blue Moon' climbers which i understand are also known as 'Lavender Rose' it does look very simular to the pictures i have just wondering if it is the same - i hope so, this is stunning - just the colour i was looking for.

It seems it doesn't grow very big,
height about 70cm
spread about 2.50 m
It is slow growing but I love it against the brick wall.
I have taken cuttings of it recently and hope to grow it under Paul's dining-room window too.
It doesn't produce many berries but the colour in the variegated leaf makes up for that all year round.
