Genus: Agapanthus

Agapanthus put on a fantastic display whether there is room for just one plant in a pot or bed or dozens. All 10 species come from South Africa giving the common name African blue lily.

Flowering from mid- to late summer in colours that are a variation on blue, white and pink, this plant also has fantastic lush foliage that is attractive in its own right.

The name comes from the greek ‘agape’ meaning love and ‘anthos’ meaning flower.

Thanks maple - I like them, too, but having seen deep blue ones (almost purple) at RHS Rosemoor, I'll be searching for those!
