singing hedgehog, part three

The latest, brief update on the hedgehogs. Around midnight last night, OH, asleep in front of the telly, was woken by rustling sounds coming from the very deep log cupboard next to the hearth, but couldn’t see anything. This morning, with the aid of a torch, he unearthed yet another hedgehog, curled up in the far corner, along with the polishes and dusters and candles. How did it make it from the front door – not difficult, that, apart from an insect screen it stands open all summer – up the hall, through the kitchen door and 20’ up the family room, through a normally closed cupboard door, all without being seen. Not sure how long he’d been there. Thank goodness we found him. He would never have hibernated successfully in the indoor temperatures, and would probably have died. We seem to be overrun with hedgehogs. I think I shall have to start shipping ’em back to the UK to replenish your stock. And register St Tiggywinkles (Casigno branch) as a charity for bewildered and distressed “spikies”.

Oh I'm sure you can TT, I think all you GoYs have probably heard quite enough about them by now.
Unless one of them gets elected to parliament, I think I should shut up now.

OOOh how awful, Meadowland! Whose blood was it? Holly's or the hedgehog's? Our cats take them for granted now, but treat them a bit warily. It's lovely to see 5 furry heads and one prickly one all eating from the same plate.
I dare say the way things are at the moment, if they DID run for parliament, I'm not saying any of them would make prime minister, but they've got a better track record than Signor Berlusconi, and they're better looking, too.

well they might be a bit prickly [MPs and hedgehogs] and they might both curl up in a ball when danger comes [both again]
any other similarities?
i wont comment on the fleas!
