great idea these Sticki, if you plant up with succulents theres no need to water. :-)

that's true SL, thanks.....although watering hasnt been too much of a problem lately!

I hadnt seen one with quite as much colour as this one, this might get more sun than the rest of my garden?

14 Apr, 2013

Wow!! I'd need a ladder too Sticki! Are you short in the arse like me?

14 Apr, 2013

Lol....

14 Apr, 2013

I want to try this, I have just the place for it.....that is so beautiful, but far too high.not good with heights lol

14 Apr, 2013

About average height Scottish!!

Love to see it when you have made it DD!

15 Apr, 2013

15 Apr, 2013

Very tempting isn't it olive!

15 Apr, 2013

That is so pretty :o)

lovely display, was thinking to do a sedum roof for the chicken shed by my new bench. Very good pot idea i think i might have a go at the pot idea too

15 Apr, 2013

i liked it too, thanks annella

was thinking stevie ~ do you think the roof could be made with a pallet? would love to see the sedum roof and the pots! when the little plants start to trail those pots will look pretty

15 Apr, 2013

I love the stacked pots- any way to cram more pots in to the same space wins favour with me!

15 Apr, 2013

Looks like an idea worth copying I thought Sarah!

16 Apr, 2013

Great idea, and the tiered pot.

17 Apr, 2013

wish i knew how to build one linda then i would make one!

17 Apr, 2013

I suppose they have made and fitted a shallow wooden rectangle to fit the roof and filled it with some stones and a little soil for the plants to get a hold with their roots. The pot idea could be used for round or square pots. Fill them with compost, gouge out some to put the next pot in and so on till you have the tiered effect, or that's what I presume.

18 Apr, 2013

i imagine thats what they have done, i think i could manage the pots ~ its the shed im not sure i could make?

18 Apr, 2013

If you made a tilted table you wouldn't have to get up a ladder Sticki.

18 Apr, 2013

That's very true but I like the idea of somewhere to escape too! Close the door and keep warm?!

18 Apr, 2013

What about getting a small shed and painting it like a beach hut then Sticki? Curtains, armchair, table........

18 Apr, 2013

i would really love that but i know the OH wouldnt!!!

18 Apr, 2013

Well what if you had His and Hers beach huts then?

19 Apr, 2013

im tempted to suggest that mine would be on a beautiful beach in scotland and there i would stay!!!

19 Apr, 2013

Oh Sticky.......Must admit though Scotland is a fab place to visit.

19 Apr, 2013

:-)))

19 Apr, 2013

27 Apr, 2013

clever arent they! thanks paul ~ did you see the tower of pots oliveoil made ~ i think they are better than these!

i would really like one of those sheds!! [but with a proper window!]

27 Apr, 2013

2 May, 2013

So that's. Where I've been going wrong. I thought you were supposed to plant in the ground.

27 May, 2013

Me too treetop! I think you get more sun the higher it is!

27 May, 2013

I saw something similar to this, but smaller, on YouTube - he made an over-door-lintel garden that was built and maintained from a window over the door. If I can find the link, I'll post it.

after a few detours:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqdfspyfPjY

not exactly the same as your pic, a lot smaller for a start! but it might give someone ideas if they can reach a porch from a window

ps - Daisy, if you've got a space for one, could you put some hooks in and make the garden on a strong tray that can be hoisted up into place? then you could lower it to tend to it and hoist it back afterwards, so you wouldn't need any mountaineering experience!

thats a nice idea ~ thanks fran ~ i think the garden that was made in your video clip was possibly twice the area of the shed roof garden?

5 Jun, 2013

it certainly looks bigger than the average porch roof, most of which would find the satellite dish overflowing the edges.

Sure there's a way to do most things - lol prob is finding that way!

5 Jun, 2013

Looked like a rather nice Georgian house as you would find in somewhere like Bath???

5 Jun, 2013

pretty isnt it meadowland! at least you have a roof garden!! how difficult are they to maintain?

5 Jun, 2013

love this amazing idea:-)))
