Rhododendron Subarcticum and Potentilla fruticosa

Rhododendron Subarcticum and Potentilla fruticosa

Two local shrubs found in any wood. I am in love with this rhododendron as I just discovered its name looking at Owdboggy's shows.

It is a wild world up here.....lol. I love the wild things, anything I get to put in the garden, is someones wildflower somewhere. I'm always amazed at the diversity. I just got some shots of a field of wild iris, I'm behind on posting my own photos.....lol.

Ooh looking forward to seeing those.....one of Amys recent pics was a mass of yellow wild iris...they are such incredible flowers!
I noticed when driving into town from here, there is a bank by the road that has been sown with wild native flowers.....all in bloom now, it's good to see they are putting nature back from where it was taken, and keeping the insect-life fed...:o)
One of the first wild flowers to bloom in northern Spain was the gorgeous cerise Gladiolus byzantinus and here they are in this village, tamed and trained....:o(
BTW Gt...the Welsh poppy seedheads are drying right now.........tamed and trained...Lol!

I love that wild yellow you have there. So bright and lovely. :-) I've had people ogling all my bees and butterflies and such, but I've noticed they come for the wild raspberries and fireweed, the tamed and trained aren't as popular. Good to hear that efforts are being made there to continue a natural habitat.
The sound of those gladiolus is wonderful!

I'm very excited Janey. Will be a wonderful endeavor. :-)
