Your clematis looks lovely and I'm guessing the green plant is a hosta? Very nice foliage.

A beautiful specimen and unusually, lacking the large holes associated with MY hostas!

Hello Tetrach, Thank you for your nice comments, I have many different types hostas that are doing extreemly well, maybe a bit too well. Friends who come to the garden often try to find holes in the leaves but never find any. I need to divide them every two years when they are about 1 metre in diameter. I give a lot away as I have no more room for them and I hate to throw my babies away. Regards, Fabrice

I think we all feel like that Fabrice, and guess you dont have the space to keep them. Why not try selling them on the internet. You must be very lucky not to have slugs in your garden. They hide in every nook and cranny in mine. But this year, thank goodness, I have a couple of hedgehog visitors!

I do have many slugs in the garden, too many, I hope I don't disappoint you when I say I have to use chemicals to keep them at bay. I would like a hedgehogs, but only have foxes in this area.

Thats probably why you dont have hedgehogs..foxes, cats and dogs do pose a problem for them. I used to use slug pellets but while I have hedgehogs I dont because a) I dont need them and b) cos the hedgehogs get poisoned thru eating dying slugs. But should the hedgehogs disappear..out will come my pellets!
