Our carrots are growing well (have picked the odd one to see how the roots are developing). Chose this variety for the Caribbean/Ol' Jamaica/Port Royal link to pirates, lol!

Didn't sow them until into June, 6d, in a bid to escape carrot fly. Also, the container the seed was sown in is just over 2 ft deep, so hoping that the height would prevent attacks.

Thats good thinking David, I planted some a few weeks ago they said they are carrot fly resistant so I shall see.

Looks like you're in for a great crop, David. Is it too late to grow carrots now? I meant to grow some of those little round ones but forgot!

There should be quite a few, Gee. :-))
You can sow until the end of this month, for lifting in October. As yours are small, they may well be ready a bit earlier. We once tried growing baby carrots in window-boxes, which were ready to eat in 12 weeks, and were delicious.
