It's a very deep red - I didn't make a note of its name!

Gorgeous colour , I almost lost mine , I left it in the greenhouse without heat , the leaves turned black , I have saved it, it has started to grow new leaves but I dont think there any chance of it flowering this year ........

Ummmm. no - I don't think so, Chloris. I looked at the photo and was amazed to find them growing in a bed! I know there are species to grow outdoors, but aren't these normally grown in pots indoors?

Its probably not too bad for it if its been out in the cold, its supposed to encourage the new growths of flowers, normally with mine which look pretty much like yours but not quite such a beautiful red I let the flowers die off and let the leaves carry on for about a month or two, then pop it in the porch without watering until the leaves die back then its off to the shed for a bit of chill for around a month or so, then its back to potting and she flowers again =) I don't know weather the greenhouse will have helped or hindered but I can't personally imagine much damage has been done at all
