About this plant

Genus: Armeria.

Species: Armeria maritima.

A really lovely wildflower that can be seen on the cliff edges above the beaches around England. It's almost like an onion gone to seed when it flowers as they have pom-pom effect flower heads, with grass like clumps of leaves at it's base.

Ideal for scree, rock or seaside gardens but mines quite happy in the front of the border in the side garden where the soil is very dry and there is a bit of a wind tunnel.
