Swap you some sun for some snow!

After a somewhat dubious Spring, we are having a heat wave over here in NZ. Way too hot & sooooo dry. The garden is so thirsty, but hose bans & too big to water anything by hand. The new hedge at the front of the house is growing nicely now, & hopefully won’t suffer from lack of water too much. New shrub & new rainbow Cordyline are getting drip feeds of water when my OH is feeling energetic enough to lug a heavy watering can from the back of the house to the front …which sadly is not as often as it should be. On a brighter note ….he did build the square arch over the back garden gate for the wisteria Black Dragon to climb over. Puppy won’t walk in the heat, so it’s early morning 40 mins hikes around the neighbourhood or park, & late mysterious moonlit walks. Photo below was taken of Loki two days ago in the park early evening …cooler as we had actually had a bit of much needed rain. So yes …….I will trade you a bit of sunshine for a spot of snow.

My hasn't he grown, bless him.
I'd love to do you a swop...but as I'm never satisfied...don't like the cold, but don't think I could stand your heat either...can I just swop a bit, to achieve a happy medium?
Hope you get some rain soon.

He is a handsome lad and growing so fast, looks like butter wouldn`t melt in that pic but I know that isn`t always the case, lol. mind you we wouldn`t really want it any other way, a boisterous happy pup can be very entertaining.
I would love to swap my snow for some of your sunshine Dwyllis...

It's often sunny after it snows, but it's cold sunshine. I only like warm sunshine, so I would gladly swap with you. You can be sure you'd get fed up with it very soon ... I find it very depressing ...

I'm first in the queue to swap Dwylis - unfortunately there is no snow here where I am. I'll swap you some chilly wind instead????

22 Jan, 2013

Scottish I think lots of us will spare some snow for you, you can keep the wind though, it messes up my hair..LOL..

LOL ....sorry Scottish, I'm with Lincslass re the chilly wind ....certainly does mess up my hair & also gives me a rather unattractive red nose ....& at my age I have to work hard at maintaining any vaguely attractive features I have left! To everybody, I feel such a fool because it is 8 am & I am sitting in the sunporch & not a sunbeam in sight! Yes, having made that rash declaration that I would love to swap a bit of sun for a bit of snow, the sun has spitefully hidden itself in cloud today! But I don't believe it will stay hidden for too long, so off to take Loki for a walk before it pops out in all its blazing glory. So pleasant to feel cool!
