We went out for the day again yesterday (ooh my the Petrol bill) We love this place even on a miserable day

This is Burgh Island

Here’s the causeway which gets compleatley covered with water 3 feet deep at high tide

This is the hotel on the island, its said they hold some really classy parties here, I’m told its Art Deco and a bit expensive

This is the only way off the island at high tide

And back again too

Wish i was on this boat, fishing

This little fellow came and sat by us while we were having a cup of tea in the cafe, he had a poorly foot too but seemed happy.

Didn't that hotel feature in one of the (many!) building refurbishment programmes on TV some time ago? I seem to recall 'island,' 'Art deco,' and 'Twenties parties?' It's lovely anyway. What a lovely day out. :o)

That hotel certainly looks familiar - maybe it was in a "Poirot" episode? In fact I'm sure it was.

I remember its makeover on a certain prog! (was is grand designs?) It is re-decorated in art deco style it cost thousands. Lovely trip over the estuary on that ferry, bet its scary in bad weather?

Great blog Sue. I enjoyed the transport to and from the island.

It does look smashing for a visit Sue but I personally wouldn`t like the feeling of being trapped on the island, I`m a right cowardy custard, lol... Lovely pics, especially the wagtail, I think they are so cute...
