Southport Flower show

By clarice

Went to southport Flower Show on Thursday, did not take any photos as there was not nothing hardly to take photos of as Wednesday evening there was so much rain the grounds was all flooded out, usually there are lots of garden displays to take photos of, although it stayed dry Thursday, since then it as been a total wash out for show, all the big tents where the flower displays where was horrible as every step you took all the water came up round your feet, the show is still on till tomorrow but not a clue how there managing as its poured it down yesterday and through the night.

its such a shame when these shows are a wash out, so much hard work and planning goes into them, and then the rain comes down,

I felt really sorry for them, it was alright walking on the concrete paths but as soon as you went on the grass it was horridit must be heart breaking for them,as alot of these folks make their money doing these sort of venues :((

Hi Carol.

That's such a pity.
So many outdoor events this year have suffered due to waterlogged grounds.

Lots of charity dog shows were cancelled early this year, with charities losing much-needed funding for cats, dogs etc.

Most shows have been rescheduled for the autumn ... fingers crossed !

Will do Carol ...
some shows are for small charities, in aid of cat and dog rescue and they rely on the summer shows to keep their work going.
Adding this to GoYpedia Flood Damage.
