The touch as been in the north west for last 3days and around 5-20pm it gets into Blackpool, tipical it is pouring with rain and the winds are going to reach 40miles hour, sounds about right, when it gets to Blackpool Mcfly the one that won strickly come dancing is taking it in the tower ballroom, there are a few of us going to see it as the prom is only down road from us, but we wont be going in the tower as we are booked to watch a show tonight aswell, think we’ll be sat in wet clothes and wind swept watching the show

You've got a nice view from your kitchen Carol. I hope you get a good view of the torch aswell. Maybe the forecast is wrong and the sun will come out lol no chance .. but enjoy the show tonight even if you're wet.

I do hope the rain stops just for a while for you, Clarice, and that you enjoy the sighting of the torch and the show.

I too wish you a good view of the Olympic flame Clarice. To be honest I am not personally interested in the Olympics at all, although I am of Greek origin. Modern Olympics have nothing to do with the ancient Olympics whatsoever. It is not only about athletics, peace and friendship. It is only a big and expensive show with plenty of political propaganda. Even poor countries want to organize them in order to gain some prestige. Broke Greece organized them a few years ago and spent billions, money they didn't have and had to borrow. Look at the state of their economy now.
Sorry if I spoil your enjoyment Clarice, but this is how I feel about it.
I like your garden.

Hi everyone had a brill time, the touch had to be diverted of the prom for safety as the winds got up to 60mile hour, and it was going right past where we was going to see the show, so we went in an Italian place two doors down, got seats right in the window so we had a lovely meal and watched the touch go right past at the same time then went in the show, then yesterday i watched Friday nights BBC Northwest News on Iplayer and watch the torch again going in the Tower.

Glad you had such a great time, Carol :o)))

Yes... I heard that the Blackpool Championship Dog Show, scheduled for Friday 22nd, Sat. 23rd and Sun. 24th June, was abandoned after the first day, due to torrential rains, with deep mud everywhere !

24 Jun, 2012

On Friday we had one months rain in 24hrs :((

OMG ...
I feel so sorry for the organisers of cancelled events ...

So do i, they did a brilliant job reorganizing the torch route, and John Barrymore was suppose to do a outside concert Saturday on the Prom, but although it was fine yesterday they had it inside the opera house, lookerly we have got big places where they can go indoors.

24 Jun, 2012

Blackpool did well to adjust so quickly to provide alternative facilities for the torch and for the concert. :o)

The torch will be coming almost to our door in July! Just a moment's walk down the road there is a gym called "Olympic Gym". Several British athletes train there & the torch is coming up to the gym.

Come on Balcony..Give it a Cheer...I live next door to the National Cycling Velodrome........... Medals for sure!

But I always support the underdogs.

I think it was going down to you Carol from the Lakes, we were there and saw it sailing down Windermere to Bowness, it was rainy and you couldn't see it much as it was sailing down on the right hand side of the lake, everyone was waiting on the left hand side....Lol! Must admit, I'm with Costas on this one, can't understand either, why there had to be so many torches, if they pass the flame on, why not pass the torch on? Anyway, pleased you had a good view and enjoyed your evening...:))

Jane i thought at first they past the touch on aswell, i watch it on tv when they was at the lakes, as for the rain think it followedthe rain to us, after it left the lakes it went to Lancaster and Morcombe the on to us in Blackpool.
