dying cordelines / hard winter

please all gardeners who have brown cordelines do not act in haste . most of the tree may be dead but not the root they may grow a new shoot and because the root is well established the new tree will grow much quicker than a new plant. paul britcliffe

I thought the same, I shall just cut the top bit off, then hope for new growth from the bottom. It happened to one of my other ones last year. It came back from the bottom. :))))

I cut my 6' cordyline back after last winter as it looked very sad. It had about 4 sprouts from the base in the spring and is now a lovely bush!
