We decided to walk off our pasta, so armed with camera we set off.

Rosanna told me this was sambuca

Wild roses

Irises

A view of the valley from the path in between the trees

Nettles going to seed

Sprouting prickly pears

Roses by thew wayside

Sunny window box

View from the other side of the road opposite the valley

Pretty garden flowers

We were getting a bit hot so we decided to set back for home – another view from the road we were walking along

Conker tree

Two weary travellers – you can’t see me as fresh as a rose ‘cos I’m taking the photo !

This tree looked so bare and sparse this winter

Judas tree from below the wall and from the steps leading up to the town

Nearly there and home at last clutching our ice lollies !

Wonderful photos.. Thanks for sharing your scenic walk.
The hillsides are stunning... no wonder you love the region so much...
and campanula coming along nicely...
... good to know you weren't at all hot and tired from taking so many pics ;o)

What a contrast from ther cold rain that's beating down at the moment. Have you ever wondered how we all would change if the climate changed to something nearer that of Italy? Imagine what the boss would say if you turned up late for work after a prolonged alfresco lunch, with a slight blush due to the excess amount of the local vino. We are reminiscent of a bunch of headless chickens over here, it's no wonder they (them over the Chanel) think us odd. I'm no sociologist or scientist but I really do believe that the sun has a positive effect on us here, all too infrequent unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, I like the UK with all it's seasons but do we really have to dash home to watch football or that talent show (and I use that word advisedly) Unless the temperature drops below 50f I try to eat outside when ever possible, refuse to watch TV especially when politicians are 'performing', a classic example of those 'headless chickens' We really ought to seriously think about being less serious. Right now as I do every evening, I'm wearing my headphones and listening to Classic FM, not everyone's cup of tea but why have mutton when you can enjoy lamb.

I'm really pleased you all enjoyed my walk - the best part of it all was the ice lolly at the end!!!!

Seriously though, I do agree with you Heron about how the climate can affect our moods and attuitude - Italians are such boisterous and sunny people and spend so much of their lives outside - remember the year UK had the heatwave??? !!!! Dreary grey wet weather can only make you dreary inside .....
