Wonderful ideas Ydd...Love the first pic...wonder what the little blue hanging flower is, beautiful...I always believe Pelargoniums should be grown in terracotta pots, suits them so well...:>)

I love the third one. Imagine edging all those grass squares in the last one! It looks lovely, but life's too short...

Love the glass screen...any idea how it`s made...do you think it`s something you could DIY?

There are some wonderful ideas out there. I'm still contemplating that pergola from your previous blog :)

Andrea I would imagine that so long as you can drill a whole through the base of the bottle it wouldn't be difficult to do, there are drill bits available to do this. Another thought and I don't know the answer but would the bottles shatter if it was too cold? If that was the case and providing the structure wasn't too big you could always cover in winter with sheets of bubble wrap.

love the pergola ideas if we just had some long hot summers to go with them, love the millet grass idea in pots which i keep saying im going to do every year, not hardy here though but nice,

Thanks everyone, just been browsing again :))) we can look forward now instead of looking back, exciting eh..
Andrea, ill go back to the link for that bottle wall, it explains how it was done, bare with me..
Motinot the site didn't list the plants in the pot :( but i know one of the fantastic gardeners on goy will know, It looks like Vinca to me haha what do i know, i can't even spell it lol..
Thanks Sticki and scotkat,
Go for it Scottish, when hub built ours last year i couldn't believe how amazing it felt standing underneath it, it was like being in a room in the garden, hard to explain but i love it :)
Hi Sand, is that what that is, millet grass, ill look that up, i love it.

Motinot, the only instructions are, drill hole in each bottle and run a rebar through it! Lovely when the sun hits it..

Its wonderful how a 'Garden Room' can enhance a property. The cost of the structure will soon be offset by the pleasure of the container plants.
Thank you Y.D.D.

Just a thought, Motinot, on the blue plant in pic 1....... Wonder if it might be Scaevola!?

i love the bottles too...i have used loads of bottles in my garden but they do break...maybe it could be done with plastic bottles. they come in different colours...:-)

Brilliant and very inspiring, YDD. My mind is already whirling with possibilities. I particularly like numbers four and six. Posh people (not us) round here quite often have fireplaces built into their outside spaces, and it always struck me as a bit strange, but this one looks stunning, if impractical. Now where's Jeeves got to.....?

No 3 is gorgeous and I love the pergola`s, I`ve been yearning for one above my patio for nearly 30yrs, hubby even started collecting the wood many moons ago but I`m still waiting (sigh)....

I know how you feel, LL, my OH has been "building" a base for a gazebo for the past three years. It's currently a very muddy, weed and ice-filled square dug out of the lawn. If he doesn't get cracking by April, I'm going to start looking round for a "little man" to get it completed.
