Love the garden - much variety and interest. I have never mastered taking photos at night I'll have to practice more - any hints?

Thanks Kfunsters, I know the night pic option doesen,t work on either of my cameras, too dark without flash and too bright with the flash, so i tried a few different settings from the scene menu," Low key" is what i got the best results from, it enhances dark areas for impressive pictures! hope this helps..

Your garden's as lovely at night as it is during the day Young DD! Whaaaht? Me? Jealous?...yes...! You seem to be winning with your camera now, sometimes it just takes a couple of hours wrestling with the instructions, and then sometimes that doesn't work either! Your pics are great pet, well done!

You have really captured the relaxing mood of nightime and your lighting is very pretty. Do you have solar or electric lights, DD? No one seems to like solar and for the time being it will be my only option for our revamped garden.

I hope you get some time to lounge in your new loungers... they do look comfy :)

Ydd
Does your camera have an iso setting .If so try increasing it to a higher (ie from 200-400,or 800 for low light use

Love your garden, looks a lovely place to put your feet up! I see you have the same big Bluey/green pot as I have and also the pretyy little salix tree, I really like the container with the succulents too. You seem to be getting the hang of your new camera, I just have the one on my mobile and have to use the flash for night scenes;0)

Its great fun finding out what the different setting are for on a camera. I have made loads of mistakes and taken lots of duff photos but I have also learnt what works and what to do to get some great effects. Go for it have a good fiddle you will learn from your mistakes and the best thing about a digital camera is you can erase the mistakes easily!
Have fun ! Oh and I love your garden.

Thanks for your comments everyone, appreciated..
I dont have solar lights any more whistonlass, we went electric 2years ago, the spotlights on the lefthand side, i bring indoors in the winter but the righthand spotlights are fixed to the fence/shed, they were wrapped in plactic bags for winter and apart from replacing one bulb, they survived, yay :)
Ill try that Mushy, thanks for the tip, its great to get exact instructions rather than guessing..
Thanks DD, Libet, Alextb, Nana d, (I love red in the garden) PP, and Sueb for your lovely compliments..

funny you mention how long it took to upload pics for the blog Youngdaisyd , I gave up trying yesterday as I thought my photos were not coming on at all !!! I'll give it another try maybe. Your photos and garden are looking great by the way :o)

Lovely garden pics Ydd, I love your raised bed and how you have it set out.
Its a right game with these new camera`s, I openly admit I get in a right pickle sometimes and I`ve had mine since Jan, it has to be trial and error, lol...
I`ve noticed how long it takes to upload my photo`s now, sometimes I even change servers halfway through a blog and flit between aol and explorer thinking perhaps it was my setup causing it, relieved I`m not the only one it happens to.......

I've been looking at the garden furniture in Asda too, but not sure how it'll last or if it'll go rusty quick. But I guess at the prices they charge it wouldn't be the end of the world if they did! I was eyeing up the swing sofa :)

19 May, 2011

OOh the swing sofa is gorgeous Donnaj, I dont have room for it tho, did you see the sofa,2seats and coffee table? I love that as well, probably in time they will rust, ill put them in the shed for winter and the cushions are waterproof..
Im glad im not the only one having camera trouble Linclass, maybe we can all learn together, there should be a Camera Class for the Dumb on Goy haha
Eee Hywel funny you should say that, Hub keeps disappearing! Ill say where you been, he say's sitting out in the back, he never sits in the back at night :)))
