Inspired by Shirley’s blog, we also had a day out!!

It was so lovely to see the signs of spring at Nyman’s in Shirley’s blog, that today we headed to Rosemoor Gardens to see what they had to offer us!

It was a cloudy day but the temperature had reached double figures which was quite pleasant.

There were lots of snowdrops looking very pretty.

Hellebores were dotted about in little groups.

Just like Shirley discovered yesterday the most magical scent on the air came from Daphne Bolua – it was heavenly!

It was nice to see daffodils growing in an orchard area.

In one of the gardens there were just seed heads of grasses and other tall plants – the effect was really attractive.

This sculpture was in this garden, I liked her a lot.

Two touches of purple nearly hidden from view!

A dainty camellia looked pretty amongst the glossy leaves.

Winter is beginning to make room for spring to move in and it is wonderful to see signs of growth – shoots peeping up through the ground and buds appearing on the trees. Thank you Shirley, I am so pleased we went out today!!

I've never been there W'rose but have seen it on the television and it features in one of my gardening books, looks a beautiful place.... I know I would love it but too far away for us, all those cheery daffodils, spring is certainly showing in that garden, the snowdrops and the dogwood together is my favourite but all your photo's are lovely....Pleased you enjoyed your day out, thankyou for sharing ....

Chris, I am so pleased that my blog inspired you to get out and about today! You sound so much more positive now that January is over, I must admit that a couple of hours out in the fresh air, looking at the first blooms in early February did us both a power of good.

Lovely photos, especially those beautiful Snowdrops and Daffodils.

I just looked back on my blogs to find that we last visited RHS Rosemoor in August 2015, then we met up with you, Sandra and Carol at the Dartington Glass factory. Was it really all those years ago?

Julia, I somehow knew you would like that sculpture! It was called ‘Contemplation.’ I loved it too.

Lincslass - it is nice to live close to Rosemoor because we can call in at any time of year. It is particularly enjoyable in the winter because it is much quieter!!

Klahanie thank you - it is a beautiful place and they are always working on a part of it to improve it. Unfortunately that is the restaurant at the moment so not ideal!!

Shirley, I am so much happier now that it is February!! Yes, I do remember that lovely get together we had but can’t believe it was 8 years ago ( except when I look in the mirror!!!)!
I so enjoyed your blog yesterday. x

I've never been fortunate to visit, yet. I hope to in the future.
Your blog is delightful, Chris. Thank for sharing, I can imagine you had a wonderful visit! Your pics are filled with colour and lovely Spring blooms.
The sculpture is lovely too, an apt name , Contemplation.

Chris, is it just me, or does time pass by more quickly as we age?!!

Kate I think you would love Rosemoor so maybe one day you will visit Devon and then plan a visit!!

Balcony the planting of snowdrops amongst the dogwoods was inspirational wasn’t it? The effect was SO good.

Rose we always enjoy ourselves at Rosemoor no matter when we choose to go. Trouble is, at the moment, the restaurant is closed for refurbishment but there is quite a nice one nearby!!

Shirley I fear it is because we are getting older - a week just flies by even if nothing exciting is happening!!

Glad your visit was more enjoyable than your last one,Chris, and your photo's are so uplifting, with all that colour..
Somewhere we have never visited either, but maybe one day..
Oh my,eight years since we all met at Dartington Glass ??
.
Although we have been fortunate enough to meet both you and Shirley since then, so I've decided to stay the same age as I was then, but Mother Nature thinks otherwise !!!
