The world is full of colour!

This is the first line of a poem which I used to enjoy using with my class at this time of year to encourage them to observe and appreciate the world around them and to encourage them to write!

Hope you like it too.

The world is full of colour!
’Tis autumn once again
And leaves of gold and crimson
Are lying in the lane.

There are brown and yellow acorns,
Berries and scarlet haws,
Amber gorse and heather
Purple across the moors.

Yellow, brown and orange,
Russet, rose and red,
A richly coloured pageant,
An autumn flower bed.

Beauty of light and shadow,
Glory of wheat and rye.
Colours the shining water
Under a sunset sky!

Such a beautiful time of year.

I've added it to my favourites Chris , so that I can look at it again when I'm longing for Spring ! Seriously though, I do love Autumn as I love to look at my garden to see what has done well and what hasn't, then out comes my spade and they all duck ! Hahaa! Will be in touch soon ! xx
