I came across this funky birdhouse and it really amused me. I know it’s just a bit of fun but thought it might raise a smile or two on my GoY friends’ faces as it’s a rather grey and gloomy day here today….and I just kinda like making you guys smile :)

Here’s a link to the website…

And here’s a photo….

Hoping you’ve got a nice smile on your face now :) x

Hehe, very sweet! (I'm smiling too :P), I love how it has little windows and everything :) You're right about the gloomy weather though... (I can't imagine manchesters being much different to us here), but at least there are bright daffies to look at, and buds on the trees!

I've just seen a bird fly out of the hedge.... at least with the caravan you can encourage them where you want :P I'm going to have to be careful gardening later incase theres a nest there :'/

Yes, we have nesting birds in the large hawthorn tree which sits on the boundary between us and our next door neighbour's fence. It really needs trimming back but now again there are birds nesting and this morning there was a wood pigeon, blackbird and 2 other tiny birds (couldn't see from the house what they were) all having a great time gathering buds (?) on it...watched them for a good 10 minutes.

There are 2 pairs of wood pigeon and I think blue tits in there nesting...maybe even a blackbird. Careful gardening is the rule now with all the birds preparing nests for their soon to be born fledglings :)

Pleased I'm bringing out your smiles :) :) :)

Love it, W.lass and yes I am smiling, how much is the rent?? :~))

Ideal for anyone who goes caravanning Jacquie ! It would certainly look different in the garden wouldn't it ?

1 Apr, 2011

Oooh...now, let me see.....rent???? Is it B&B you'd be requiring or a seasonal rate, Grandmage? lol

I think it would be a talking point in the garden, yes Marie. Not quite sure of the practicalities of it or if it would meet with RSPB recommendations...but hey, it's just a bit of silliness :)

A great big smile here Whiston, a holiday home for birds, I think its fantassydaisy.
Our birds are building in the hawthorn at the bottom of the garden, every year I threaten to have the top taken down, its smothered in ivy and home to many so I never have the heart to actually destroy their home.....

I know just how you feel, Lincslass...the hawthorn here is smothered in ivy too and the ivy extends from a broken down wooden fence (I'm sure it's the ivy that's holding it up!!) but we dare not get rid of the ivy so I'm encouraging it to do a job of covering the old fencing. The birds get great cover from it so it'll be staying for another season at least.

Unfortunately the ivy has choked out a lovely clematis that grew for many years up into the hawthorn and I do miss it's very large purple blooms...so vivid amongst the hawthorn branches.

Hi Wlass, definitely made me smile, just what we need at the moment with the weather being quite depressing right now. One decent day and hey you think things are rolling then the next day comes in cold and gloomy.
