Summerhouse

I have always wanted a summerhouse. So, when I received some money after completing a job, I decided to treat myself to one. I decided to site it at the bottom of the garden, near the children’s swing. This area had been neglected and was overgrown. The first job then was to clear it all up.

The next step was to mark out where the summerhouse was going to go. I put some garden chairs there to get an idea of the space.

The people I bought the summerhouse from advised me that a timber frame would be fine as a base, unless I lived somewhere prone to flooding. As I don’t, I opted for the timber frame.

After a few dramas (was sent the wrong floor!) the summerhouse was finally erected.

I then painted it, using two of my favourite colors.

Furniture went in, Welcome sign went up.

The next step was make some curtains. Luckily I flound some nice material in the remnant box in the local curtain shop (the curtain wire etc cost more than the material!). Couple of hours on the sewing machine and the curtains were ready to be hung.

Today the weather is glorious. I took my laptop out and decided to do a blog about my summerhouse from the summerhouse!

This is the view I am feasting my eyes on while I type away.

Thank you all. I and the girls spent the entire day in the summerhouse chatting, reading and writing. I am hoping the weather continues to be wonderful so we can enjoy many more days outside.

It looks wonderful.

Well worth the time and expense I would guess.
