unwanted adverts

I've tried adblock but it doesn't work on my computer.
I find the ads a nuisance. The pages take ages to change because they wait for the ads to upload (or whatever they do).
It gets on my nerves :(

How do I get it on Google please ?

My main page is the weather forecast lol :)
but I can easily get the google page.

I use Adblock on Google too,and never had any adverts since,which was a few years ago now.Someone on Goy suggested it,but I can't remember who ..

I'd like to know how to get it. I tried it once but it didn't work. Maybe I got the wrong version.

Are you all talking of the side ads you get when on your mail page or similar? I didn't realise you could get rid of those. Or are you talking about pop-ups? I thought we all got some ads regardless - like the one on the RH top of this page and running along the top. I would be interested to know the answer to that one.

My screen is completely clear of any adverts,Honeysuckle..no pop ups,sides or the top..all I have is a border of dark green either side,of the pale grey central box area,where all blogs ,comments etc appear..I have a small red icon at the top RH side,where other icons are,which says ADP on it,to say it is enabled.

Yes Snoop to both questions. These blessed ads appear across the top and down the sides. I didn't have a problem with my old laptop, but since using my new tablet, they're back. :(

Try 'adbloc plus' as 'adbloc' alone did not work for me but 'adbloc plus' does and I have no adverts Hywel.
