Come for Tea..

Last year someone on GoY showed some pictures of a municipal garden they had visited. I think it was Cottagekaren..but don’t quote me!
Anyway, one of the pictures showed some cups and saucers in the garden and I said how much I not only liked the idea, but would love to do the same in my garden. A challenge was laid down and this is my version, so please…come to tea!

That's really clever Waddy. I love china! Don't remember if it was me that posted...the cups and saucers aren't ringing bells though. Great idea, I love the 'tea' pouring from the pot! :))

Maybe it was Youngdaisydee that posted, she did post lots of quirky photos last year.

Don't think so...I remember the pictures showing cups and saucers in a garden and when I said 'd like to that, who ever posted it, or commented on it said to go for it. I thought it was you ,but....

Bloomer, Glad you like it. I got all the china from charity shops, so not too expensive. I'm sure funny mugs would look great.

Thanks Lincslass. The 'tea' was the OH's idea. Well he did help in other ways too if I'm honest.

Thanks Scottish. :)

I love it! Is it Yorkshire tea or is there a dormouse in there? I'm packing my suitcase right now, and I'll be there with some toasted teacakes and lemon curd as my contribution to the spread!
Aren't your delphiniums and lupins looking good? All I can hear outside, above the thunder, lightning and splashing of rain is the chomping of giant snails: they've taken everything down to the ground, and although I don't like using slug pellets, if I didn't, there would be nothing left. (Except my giant euphorbia)

You've got your own sculture park now Waddy, do the birds drink from the cups?:-)

Gattina; Of course it's Yorkshire tea, what else would look that strong lol?! The Delphiniums and Lupins were all moved last year, during the mini revamp, but don't seem any the worse for it. Slugs a problem here too. Garlic my dear, that's the trick, they seem to hate the stuff.

Bornagain; Lol, my OH thinks I've lost the plot, but who cares? I have seen Coal tits and Blue tits using the saucers, but I don't think bigger birds would be able to perch on them. We shall wait and see.

I sprayed all my brassicas with neem oil solution the other day - it smells powerfully of something close to garlic, but is supposed to do the trick against those tiny black rascals that make lace out of my sprouts each year "cabbage fleas"? is that what they're called in English? Well, the cauliflowers look OK, so do the broccoli and the sprouts, but the cabbages look very sick indeed, and are covered in insects - I'm sure I can hear them laughing. I hesitate to dole out the same treatment to precious flowering plants. Maybe I'll look up Moongrower's garlic recipe and try that.
