We have recently returned from another trip to Cyprus ( I have really fallen in love with this country…and its people) Despite the lack of rain over the winter months, the wild flowers were still blooming fantastically.

Here are just a few of the photos we took. There are many more, but I’ll save those for a later date. Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy them.

Been to Cyprus a couple of times and loved it! Sadly, the flights from Scotland stopped, so we lost our easy access. Beautiful country, and what a lovely time to go there. I've always wanted to go back when the wildflowers are in bloom. Enjoyed your pics very much!

It is such a lovely place to visit and I have so enjoyed your pictures.

The people are very welcoming and friendly and the climate at this time of year is just right for me!!!

Hello Waddy. Welcome back. Very familiar scenes to me. It used to be more colouful when I was a boy and there were no chemicals to use by the farmers. Wild flowers need very little rain. The weather in Cyprus has always been like that. Personally I do not believe very much in the global climate change. Since ancient times the weather in Cyprus follows a four year cycle. One very wet year, two average and one very dry. Dry and sunny weather is good for tourism, but bad for the farmers and the fresh water supplies.
When you visit Cyprus next time, we can arrange to visit my brother's garden on the slopes of mount Troodos and enjoy the Cypriot hospitality at its best. You can see wild flowers, hundreds of olive trees and many-many other. If you are not a vegetarian you can also enjoy his barbecue, which is done every Sunday with many visiting friends.
No barbecue for me here in London this weekend. Wife is very religious and meat is not allowed until our Easter, which this year is the same day as yours.
HAPPY EASTER.

TT, I missed that programme, but yes, a lovely place and the Cypriots are soooo friendly. Always smiling. Perhaps the sunshine has something to do with their mood.

Snoopdog; Sorry you've not been able to get out much. I'm sure the sun will be shining here in the UK very soon.

Cottagekaren; Oh that's a shame, I wonder why they did that? I'm glad you liked the pics. You really must try and get thee in the Spring. The flowers are wonderful and the temperatures just right.

Wildrose; I couldn't agree more. I've really come to love the place.

Kokkino' I had no idea about that point of the weather in Cyprus. I suppose next year will be a wet year in that case, but I have to say I totally agree with you about global climate change. Thank you for the offer of introduction to your brother, that's really kind of you. I am most definitely NOT religious, so I'm guilty of eating meat, at any time!
So glad I helped to bring back memories for you...watch out for more pics.

Pansypotter; Glad you enjoyed the pics. You really must go to Cyprus, if you get chance. I wouldn't advise summer, as it gets VERY hot, but spring or autumn are perfect.

Lovely pics, Waddy. We have been to some wonderful Greek islands, and loved Corfu, Crete and Kefalonia, but I would love to persuade OH to go to Cyprus next year!

Thank you Sheila. I'd like to visit the Greek islands, but as we tend to take our holidays around the end of February and the beginning of November, there doesn't seem to be flights or hotels available.
Good luck with persuading the OH to visit Cyprus!
