Autumnal food cravings

Is is just me or is there anyone else out there who has started with an insatiable appetite? Must be instinct, storing up for the long hybernation over winter, but I am thinking about my next meal only a couple of hours after eating.

Maybe I shouldn’t have but instead of going out in the garden today I made a boiled fruitcake and some chocolate hazlenut scone rolls, now the house smells like a bakery and it is not helping my overactive appetite.

Bonnie will have to have an extra long walk tonight whether she wants to or not! She actually doesn’t like a lot of exercise and once she has been around the block she is pulling to go home. She much prefers to loll about in the sun. She feels the cold, so has to have a coat on even a slightly cool day, but she is a lovely hot water bottle for cuddling up to on a chilly Autumnal evening. The only thing is I have to fight my husband for the privilage.;-]

I have made a very large apple and sultana pie today. Just off to make the custard to go with it. I shall never ever be slim. Definitely a granny's perogative to be round and cuddly.

Yeah the cold can do that to ya alright, but so can your hormones, in particularly the thyroid.
As in Hyperthyroidism.
In healthy people, the thyroid makes just the right amounts of two hormones, T4 and T3, which have important actions throughout the body. These hormones regulate many aspects of our metabolism, eventually affecting how many calories we burn, how warm we feel, and how much we weigh, the thyroid "runs" our metabolism.
These hormones also have direct effects on most organs, including the heart, which beats faster and harder under the influence of thyroid hormones. Essentially, all cells in the body will respond to increases in thyroid hormone with an increase in the rate at which they conduct their business.

That above was just in case it might apply to someone. You can check out more on the internet.

Having said that, I had a craving for home bakes on monday and made a lemon cake with lemon butter ream I'm still nibbling away at it. :-) yum!

I`m definitely a person who eats more in the winter, thats because I`m naughty in the growing seasons and cannot be bothered to get a meal until hubby needs feeding, lol, also I love salads and can live on them, add that to my ciggies and you know why I`m so small, I do have times when I crave things but in my case its usually crisps and cheesy biscuits, oh and I love liquourice torpedoes, I`m a big kid sometimes, lol...
I am also one of the people who lives with thyroid problems,( had my throat cut years ago and still alive and kicking) every so often my levels hit the roof and as Angie has said it causes lots of problems, so well worth checking it out if anyone has any of the symptons described....
