The ups and the downs.

I was sitting at work last night watching the wind and rain (it was like a mini monsoon) when I realised my garden would be taking a battering as well.
when I got home this morning the front garden looked ok, the reed screening tied to the fence did the wind breaking job I’d hoped it would.
I went round to the back garden hoping I was lucky there too.
One of my young clematis branches had snapped but the plant should survive, so i,ve secured it and the other 4 as well.
The rest of the garden wasn’t to bad.
Most of the wildfowers had blown over so I restaked about 20 plants and thankfully they should all be ok too.
I did lose one flower from one of my Anemone de caen though as it had snapped in the middle.
Clematis the president is growing nicely on my makeshift arch, is branching out well and even has some nice big buds on it.
My red patio rose has some nice flowers opening up now after a dodgy start, I got this from B&Q and the buds started falling off almost as soon as I got home. I sprayed it for the problem and repotted it and sprayed it again and now some are opening and haven’t fell off yet so it,s looking good.
The biggest surprise of the garden this year has been the wildflower seeds which I bought a box of.
I planted loads of them individually and the planted them out in the garden without knowing what specific plants were in them… the blue cornflowers, the mauve flax, the purple tansy, the white gysophila and the mauve and yellow corn cockle amongst others, all lovely flowers.
I seperated the seeds into individual kinds (well some of them , there were average 10,000 seeds in box) and have already marked out which will go where for next year.
